Mom’s Stuff:

Well, it has been quite a while since I last posted!  We have been pretty busy around here.  I have been grading my heart out (end of the term), we did some traveling and we finally have some nice weather, which has led to many a weekend being spent outside!  It is so fun watching my little guy run around and play outside.  I love the time we have at the park when he runs and explores.  There is something special as a parent when you see you kid start to become more independent in a very literal way.  We don’t have to chase behind him anymore – LP is perfectly capable of picking himself up when (not if . . . when) he falls down.  I know this is just the beginning, but I keep waiting to feel a small touch of sadness that he is on his own more, but all I really feel is a lot of pride, a lot of “impressed” and a smidgen of relief; my knees can only take so much crouching over!

LP’s Stuff:

LP is total stable.  He goes up and down the various steps at our house by holding onto the wall or railing (or person if one is available for him).  He is also able to climb up on our couch by himself, as well as our dining room chairs.  This has led to some interesting dinner moments when LP is in one of the grown-up chairs, our cat is in the other, and the G-man and I are relegated to the floor or the desk chair.  At least we know who is boss around here!

After some traveling we splurged and got some take-out last week.  Enter LP’s favorite vegan pizza – Peace ‘O Pie!  I’m not proud of this but I took the last two pieces for lunch last Friday, because I knew that if I left it at home my guys would gobble it up.  LP loves the Daiyia cheese and apple sage sausage, and he shares his pizza with us, one bite at a time 🙂
