Tuesday Toddler Update:

LP has been enamored with plane travel lately.  Maybe it is the plane trip we took last month, or maybe it is the fact that his Grandma and Grandpa just came to visit via plane.  Either way, our living room has become the cabin of a 747.  LP takes our throw pillows and puts them on the couch.  These are the airplane seats.  Then, we are all instructed to sit on the airplane seats.  Sometimes we do take-off and landing complete with noises and leaning in the appropriate direction (forwards or backwards).  Sometimes we get our plane snack (peanuts) and drink (plain water) and a lap blanket and then we go on a ride.  Sometimes LP reads his magazine.  Always LP decides who will sit where and when we will move seats.  He is good at giving directions like that.  However, his favorite version of this game is when Dad and Mom are his steward(ess) and serve him with a smile.  He loves that.  I don’t know why this seems special, since I’m pretty sure this is already our life.

LP has also ramped it up a notch with his latest mantra about his baby sister.  Whenever we try and get IP to grab something or play with a toy LP tells us “Baby IP too little!”  He definitely wants it known that he is the big kid here, and we’d better not forget it!  Of course he makes up for it by entertaining his baby sister with songs and toys while Mom gets some dishes done or laundry started.

All prepared for the flight – snack and magazine in hand!
