Vegan Goodness:
Today we ate . . .
- Breakfast: Blueberry smoothies for Dad and LP, followed by toast with butter and jam for everyone.
- Lunch: Tomato soup and grilled (Daiya) cheese sandwiches
- LP snacked on some crackers this afternoon. Mom snacked on some chocolate chips and peanuts
- Dinner: Slow Cooker Seitan pot roast
Money Matters:
Today our big outing was a walk to see the trains. No money spent!
Tuesday Toddler Update:
A new and scary phrase has entered LP’s vocabulary lately. “Goo goo REALLY want!” He uses it for everything. He really wants crackers. He really wants to take a bath. He really wants more hugs. Often he pulls out the “really” term when we have already said “no.” As in this exchange:
LP: “Goo-goo want chocolate cream pie”
Parent: “We don’t even have any chocolate cream pie.”
LP: “But Goo-goo really want some!”
Parent: “Honey, we don’t have any. And we’re about to eat dinner anyway.”
LP: “But Goo-goo really, really want some!”
Oh to be a little kid again. You can’t buy that kind of eternal hope. It’s like he really thinks that, if he only says “really” enough, his every desire will appear. Gosh, I wish it worked that way. Let me try . . .
Me: “I really want some chocolate cream pie!”
I just checked the fridge. No dice 😦
I think the only thing you can do is say “I really want some, too! Let’s go ask Daddy.”
