Delicious Vegan Dish of the Day:
For breakfast we enjoyed some of the last NYC bagels and tofu cream cheese from LP’s Auntie’s trip up to see us. These are always a special treat!
Money Matters:
Today we got to go on an outing to the local bookstore/coffee shop. LP, Mom, Grandma and Grandpa all enjoyed our respective lattes. But Grandma and Grandpa treated, so for us, nothing spent. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
Tuesday Toddler Update:
At night time, just before bed, LP can get a little crazy. I’m pretty sure this is not unique to him – I have heard many bedtime horror stories from other parents. This bedtime craziness is part of the reason we have a clear routine and stick to it, no matter what. However, even with our story/potty/brustteeth/hug/kiss/onemorehug/onemorekiss/no,wecan’tdomorekisses/nightnight system, LP can still get a bit wonky. So, some nights, right before we go into his room, we tell him to “get the wiggles out.” Basically, for the count of ten, he can wiggle and move however he wants, and then he has to stop and be calm again. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn’t. But the other day, he added his own twist to the wiggles (no pun intended). After he rolled around on the floor like a floppy fish, I said “. . . ten! Wiggles all out.” He said “No!”, got up, and scooped up some invisible substance from the floor, ran into our bedroom, threw said-substance on the floor, and came back to where his dad and I were standing. He said “I got the wiggles out! I put them in your room!”
Just one more reminder of how concrete a three-year-old can be.
