Thursday Baby Update: On the move!

Delicious Vegan Dish of the Day:

I just made a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  It just sounded good, and there is never a bad time for chocolate!

Money Matters:
Today we spent the following:

  • $9.00 for the G-man’s piano book – he starts his second round of piano lessons next week
  • $13.49 for some garden supplies from Home Depot

Thursday Baby Update:

When LP was about 9 months old, he started walking.  Before that he had been crawling a little, but he was trying hard to walk and cruise.  From an early age he was determined to move around on his own, and he worked hard at it.  IP is another story.  She was able to sit up on her own, when propped up, by five months, but she has been content to stay there for a while.  She rolled over at around five months as well, but hasn’t really done it since.  She seems happy enough to just stay in once place and play with the stuff around her (or watch her endlessly entertaining big brother).

Lately, however, she has been on the move more.  She isn’t crawling.  She is barely scooting.  But when she sees something she wants, she manages to reach for it and grab it most of the time.  If it is truly out of her grabbing range (which is already way larger than it should be) she manages to kind of lean and scoot, lean and scoot, until she gets what she wants.  Note: she rarely puts in this type of energy or a toy.  Instead, she will do this or food.  The best motivators to get her to move have been cheerios or toast.

Just one more sign that she truly is my daughter.  I’m sure she would get up and run if we placed a bar of dark chocolate at the other end of the room.
