Delicious Vegan Dish of the Day:
Another delicious kale salad with baked tofu for Mom’s lunch. LP and IP “shared” her tofu (i.e. ate all of it).
Today we spent the following:
- $14.00 at our local book and plant sale to support the public library. I stocked up on young adult novels and the G-man bought six kohlrabi plants.
- $22.00 for a girls night out for Mom and her dear friends
I’ve been slacking on posting here lately. I could blame the fact that I’ve gone into work a couple times recently, or the fact that IP seems to think 5am is an acceptable time to wake up and play. But the real reason is the nice weather outside. No longer is playtime relegated to trucks and trains in the playroom and a puzzle in the living room. Instead we are outside as much as possible. LP swings and slides on the playset, or helps the G-man shovel dirt into planters. We spread out a blanket on the grass for IP where she stacks cups, pulls at the grass and tries to put leaves in her mouth.
When the kids are playing inside, I can sometimes sneak in some of my own projects. I check e-mail. I write a blog post. I get some dishes or cooking done. Occasionally I clean something. But when I’m outside with my kids I’m just with my kids. I’m enjoying the sun. I’m helping LP “plant” or I’m playing peek-a-boo with IP. No computer. Not dishes and dust staring at me. Just me and my kids. It’s just one of the reasons I truly love spring.
